Count in steps — watch the train number track grow!
Age: 7–11 years
Learning:
Year 3: To count up and down in tenths; recognise that tenths arise from dividing an object into 10 equal parts and in dividing one-digit numbers or quantities by 10
Year 4: To count up and down in hundredths; recognise that hundredths arise when dividing an object by 100 and dividing tenths by 10.
Instructions:
Choose your step size, format (decimal or fraction), direction and start number.
Press Go!, then press Play to start counting.
Each step adds a new window to the train (number track) at the top of the screen.
A whole carraige is equal to 1.
Use the speed handle to make counting faster or slower at any time.
Press on the eye button to hide numbers so children can count in their heads.
Drag the train left or right to look at earlier numbers.
Press Pause to stop.
To start again press on the settings cog to see the menu.
